it's best to go in person if you have any questions or requests. they open at 6pm.
They open at 6PM and close at 10 PM
you won't pay more than 25$ per person. each plate costs $2-$6. you can eat a lot for little $.
I think so. Great place to eat.
No Kids menu, but you can ask for Kids California roll or cooked items for kids.
Hi no
Yes. And I would follow Filip's advice: the sushi and sashimi goes around in a carousel kind of thing with boats. You can go, choose what you wish and leave very fast. I would do that all the time if I lived close by. (Katana is my favorite place for sushi). If you're planning on having Tempura, that you might want to order before pick up since they make only by order and it takes a little longer. (My preferences are shrimp, mixed and banana tempura)
Yes
Nope
Above average sushi with a fun twist -- a lazy river that runs around the dining room with little boats holding small plates of sushi, etc. Can also order from the menu. Gets very crowded!
the best! be here before 6 or you will have to wait to sit down, gets busy quickly. try spicy tuna sushi and geso (fried squid tentacles on a stick).
Best white fish sashimi and most fresh sushi in town at affordable price. Worth the wait to sit down... also their green tea ice cream is legit.
Great sushi experience, you wait a bit but then you have excellent quality sushi from $2.5 to $5.9. Special sushi available on request.
Took more than TWO hours to prepare an order. They were unresponsive and rude. Blaming Postmates for delivery, because they are not used to work with online orders. Will NEVER come back here again.
Today was my third time coming to Katana, it was special occasion because my wife had just thought her first class as a professional yoga instructor. We had a great time with my cousin and his wife, the food was delicious and the service was prime as well. Highly recommend it if you're looking for an authentic spot.
My favorite sushi place ever. I’ve lived all over the U.S. The line to get in is always long and crowded but there’s a reason for that. Seriously the best. So delicious.
My local spot for sushi, reasonable prices, extremely busy but worth the wait.
Katana. 10 years coming here and it never disappoints. If you’re ever in south miami beach and in the mood for a trendy delicious sushi experience come here. Fresh sushi and sashimi. I mean fresh. Come early because it’s a small place and it fills up quickly so if you’re starving don’t expect miracles in sitting. You have to wait specially during the weekends. Absolutely delicious. The cheff is very accommodating and the manager does a great job at keeping costumers happy even during the moments when it is crazy packed. Lovely place. Great sushi.
Restaurant is very good for the price, interesting how the food goes around on a conveyor of boats. I feel like they could of had more variety as they would make the same roll on the inside but then just topped with something different. I would go again but not as many times in a year if it was not changing. But overall I did enjoy the food
We have a tradition every week we go to this place. It has very tasty and fresh food, very tasty rolls, especially an octopus salad. Do not pay attention to the interior, the main thing in this place is the special atmosphere of the food! We recommend this tasty place, come early to take a turn.
My friends and I have a name for this restaurant: little boat sushi. It’s really creative that they put the sushi on the little boat and you make them flow. You can pick whichever you want from the little river, which makes eating sushi more interesting. Speaking of the sushi itself, it’s decent. Please note that this restaurant is really popular. In other words, YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR A LONG TIME. So I would suggest you to go to the restaurant earlier, take a number, then take a walk, and then come back to eat.
Read the poor reviews. 100% accurate. Incredibly RUDE staff especially after you wait for an hour outside and then you wait an hour to receive your order. Average sushi. Poor service. Condescending punk waiter who spoils your time. Get sushi elsewhere if you want to enjoy a pleasant evening. If rude people, slow service, and average sushi don’t bother you...this is your place.
Food was delicious! The line was crazy long but the food is fresh and delicious so that makes it all worth it in the end. I probably won't be making another line here again haha
This place is a gem! Be prepared to wait as they don’t take reservations and they are full every day of the week! The staff is committed and hard working. Prices are unbelievable for the quality of sushi they serve! Is our once a week go to. Sake and beer prices are extremely good to, sake starts at 2 dollars 90 and wine cost 4 usd.
Service- Friendly staff. They offer you water or drinks while you wait in line (which can take +30min if you go after 6pm). Both guys are helpfulFood- Def worth the wait- Sashimi and Shrimp Tempura ($4.90) are my favorites Price-Super Cheap. Plates on the "boats" go from $1.90 to $3.90I give them only 4* cuz I think place needs a DEEP clean 🙊
Love the atmosphere! The whole idea of having the plates with sushi traveling around in miniature boats is very cool and intriguing. You pick what plate you would like to have and you pay per plate. Prices range from $2 to about $6 depending on what type of sushi you like. I was full with just 3 plates. Would definitely go back. One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant is a little small so you may find yourself waiting to be seated. It's worth the wait though.
Love Love Love!!!I've been enjoying their food and atmosphere for years. Would highly recommend
Food was good. Wait time is laughably long, a good 2 hours plus on a busy night. Pretty decent bar next door to pass the time though.
Best sushi place in town. Ignore the long wait. People willingly wait for a reason. The sashimi is out of this world. If you know about sushi, you will know this place is top of the line. The salmon melts in your mouth. The red tuna, ufff...butter. If you come, go with patience. You are going to wait...a while. It will be worth it. When you come in, just pay attention to who comes in after you. Don't argue with the owner, he is nicest guy...just wait your turn.
Great service, amazing food. Make sure to arrive at least 30 min early to secure a spot in the first round.
Had to wait an hour to be seated. Cute concept. “Conveyed belt” sushi, but in boats floating in water. Sushi was ok. Good for the experience.
Best sushi place I been to in a while. But come at a good time the place gets really busy. So take a number and get ready for some good sushi
Good place to eat don't expect to seat when you arrive it's by number but its worth it the short (sort of) wait. Food is good depends where you seat you get the cheap plates. Service is good and fast. Ambient is nice and quiet. Would recommend
This place is the best little kept secret in North Miami Beach. The sushi is fantastic. However, the wait can be onerous. Sometimes even going a mile down the road. However, the wait is well worth it. Fantastic Sushi, fantastic service. Highly recommended.
Sushi is the best and very delicious but the place is small and dirty.
Fun experience. Sushi taste so much different when it comes on a little boat. Wait time can be upwards of an hour. But there are bars around so you can enjoy yourself while you wait.
The most amazing sushi in South Florida! Service was awesome! The wait is usually about 45 minutes and it is worth every second! Do not get impatient, everything was top quality! Compliments to the chefs! Luckily they had fatty and lean tuna special that was also amazing!
If you want to try authentic sushi that’s the place! It’s been there for ever and it’s always a line! Place need some facelift if not more but it’s definitely one of Miami secret awesome places !
Tushie is very rude and unprofessional.
There is one word to describe Katana. That is “Patience”. Your patience will pay off! The sushi is exceptional, fresh and there is plenty of variety. The boats make for a cute presentation and their hot dishes are freshly made. Dishes are priced by dish color and the prices are displayed on the wall. The nigori is 🙌🏾. There are rules: if you touch/pick up a plate from a boat, you cant put it back. You cant grab plates while you wait in line and eat while standing. Please be patient, the place is amazing but it is small and quite popular! So there is almost always a wait time. There are two servers running the front of house, be kind and dont ask them if you’re next every few minutes. They for sure know you’re there and you will be seated as soon as space opens up. Make sure you take a number as soon as you come in to secure your place in line. If the line is long(it will be) pop over to the bar next door and have a drink while you wait. Im quite fond of this place.
This place is delicious. The line to get to the table was loooong AF, but the food is fresh and delicious. People wait 1h to eat here. I don’t like to wait, but just for this time I did it. I won’t do it again
What a fun place with delicious offerings. Fresh fish creatively presented. If you don't arrive early, be prepared to wait. Nice hard working group.
Love this restaurant. I've been going there for almost 5 years already. Great food every single time.
